So we parked by the old refinery
Just to smell it's piled debris
And just outside the window were the flowers
And horror movie scenes of trees
I swear I could smell his sweet neck
And let it linger on my hands for days
And under my covers was a beautiful wreck
Where I would let myself pray

Strange copies of romance flicks
Like tapes on a shelf, falling down to the archives
Just below the top of the world on a butchered cliff
For a minute, for a minute, I was his
What I felt for a minute could be him
Or insane things and funny words
And in the ray of light the dust swims
I saw it coming, and I never did learn

That years from now,
The engine will break down
The roads will be paved
And the grass will be shaved
Stephen will fall in love
And I'll forget the time I made love to Stephen's truck
