Apples and Bruises

Apples fall,
Hit the ground.
Like my skin
When I fall,
They bruise.
When I
Smack water
I do not
Bruise at all.
I sink slowly
To the bottom.
Apples float
Like buoys,
No bruises
Form on their
Delicate skin.
These thoughts
Occupy my mind
When apples are
Growing,
Falling,
Growing,
Falling.
Falling,
Bruising,
Falling,
Bruising.
So I ponder
This; do apples
Feel pain
When they
Hit the ground?
