How Could You

How could you come into my life and change it like that,
How could you make those promises?
How dare you toy with my heart.
Like a child’s play toy,
Like a top to spin or a board game to play
It’s not as new as it once was.
I sit and weep in bed,
While you just up and leave
What makes you think that I’m going to stand for this?
Why act like you don’t care so much.
How could you.

What makes you think I’m going to sit here and let you hurt me.
How can you say it?
That you love me, you care, you’re sorry, and then just go?
You come crawling back.
How could you.

You want another chance you say.
I don’t think so you hurt me,
And to make it worse you betrayed me.
How dare you ask?
For my trust, my forgiveness, one more opportunity,
Like a piece of candy
It’s easy to get back?
That’s what you think.
How dare you.

To get another chance you need to earn it back.
It won’t be easy,
But you better try.
It won’t be easy,
So try you hardest.
Don’t hurt me again don’t even try.
It won’t work.

You better work hard because it’ll take guts.
Hurt me once shame on you.
Don’t even bother hurting me again,
My heart is now like a stone.
I’m stronger now. You’ll loose.
Your plan won’t work
