I've always willed myself
to gaze beyond the darkness,
that a light shines just beyond
the towering mountain.
I've told myself I'm
strong enough,
and met every weakness that
still grows on me; a leech of life.

The author's comments:
The idea that things get better inspired me to write this poem. I wanted to write something inspiring rather than something depressing. I hope that with this, people will believe that things can get better, because they really do.
