I wish he were a girl,
because then we might
walk down to the lake
and hold hands.

I wish he were a girl,
because then we might
sit by the fireplace and
watch the snow.

I wish he were a girl,
because then I might
hold her when she's
crying.

I wish he were a girl,
because then we might
kiss and want and be
without ridicule.
