Your distant eyes and unalert face tells me I’m a memory
A small piece of your childhood you care to leave behind
But I remember you
We spent the whole night trick or treating
Twice, if I recall correctly

But I suppose you forget to mimic my memory
We are clearly different in that aspect
After that day, you never left me
I carried you in my heart
You don’t seem to do the same
Locking me up deep inside your memory
Forgetting I was even there at all
