"How do I know what I think until I see what I say?" - E.M Forster

To walk these hallowed halls for four years
To find that they are cursed with adolescence
What was the use, I mutter
It was your fate, once conceived

Forced to suffer the excruciating torture
Of the minor aches of senior high drama
There were relievers, many times through
But when you leave, a new break begins

Toiling in what you did
Many times outside of the bell
It brought chaos to your planner
A mess of scribbles, dates, and times

Free now, for only a summer
Entering the big leagues, on a larger scale
They know as much as you
Bringing you into their brand of adult angst

That feeling, simply put, stress
Is something experienced before
New name, only intensified
Reliving your most unwanted moment

It seems wasted; that time
It is a precious friend, one mistreated
I am leaving you forever
You will come back because you are here already

I wrote this piece for a creative writing weekly workshop. It was during my junior year but now that I'm a senior now it is true.
