untold lies

my heart is broken but not in two,
it has shattered because of you.
when you spoke those words you did not mean,
just for that instant i was your queen.
the world was bright and there was a life untold,
not it is dark, damp, and cold.
i wish i never loved your cold heart,
then maybe it would not hurt to be apart.
now i know what truly hides within your eyes,
there is nothing but hurt and untold lies.
