Nature
Sitting in the chaise lounge on a chilly winter day
Bundled up in a cozy sweat suit and slippers
My sweatshirt as grey as the sky
There is no blue in sight—no clouds, no sun
The wonders of the lone snowflake falling to the ground
And then another, but quickly stops
Whoosh! The sweet sound of wind tickles my ear so I can’t hear anything else and blows my hair around
But so fierce to move the tree branches together as one
And stop together as the wind dies down
Leaves are running around with each other looking for others to come and play
The beauty of nature working collectively even though not intended
Suddenly the blue sky emerges from behind the grey gloom
Mr. Sun pops his head out through the newly seen clouds to say hello
He creates warmth as his rays beat down upon the earth
My cat’s whiskers show through the French doors
Telling me to come inside and be with him
That ends my date with nature
Mother Nature, that is
My appreciation for her has grown
For there is more to nature than I had known
