Orchestra of Fall

The wind whips through the trees
causing a chorus to rise
of shaking brittle leaves
and branches swaying in the wind.
The sound flourishes into a frantic
orchestral-like cresendo.
The nervous flutter of wings
cuts through the swelling sound
of the bristling trees
as a flock of birds,
disrupted by the sudden gale of wind,
attempt to find a limb
where they will not be bothered
by the ever-present wind gusts.
