From bracelet and nicknacks
I am from the ghetto
From the dead bush
Who's lifeless branches
Still hold leaves
I am from big Thanksgiving dinners
And beautiful brown eyes
From Wanda and David
I am from gossip and loud talking
From less hitting and more bickering
I am from Catholics
Who never go to church
I'm from Dominican immigrants
And Puerto Rican descandants
Pernil and lasagna
I am from El Cucu, the boogeyman
And long, brown hair
I am from project buildings
And I WILL go where ever my success takes me
