Winter
Leaves so dry and brittle begin to fall off trees
They look so bare and naked.
Grass turns brown and starts to die
As the earth hardens.
Air turns sharp and cold;
It makes me shiver.
Scratches and scrapes fill the air
People try to get frost off car windows.
Days drag on and seem to go by slow.
Outside, shh there’s not a sound
No one wants to play.
White begins to fall from the sky
The children all cheer!
“No school”, they cry “It’s time to play!”
Snowball fights start to breakout.
Watch out! You might get hit.
Dark soon comes the children are cold and frozen.
To their surprise they see a cup of steam.
Hot coco is waiting to heat them up
From a long day of play!
