Honesty

The wind it rises
the tide grows strong
the villagers
frightened
what have they done
to anger the gods
with a fury so real
The waves
they are growing
the torrent
they feel
a violent monster
awoke from the sea
A whirlwind of water
come to slay thee
Oh, the villagers run
they scramble about
A whirlwind of chaos
as the monster comes down
to swallow them whole
in it's watery grave
the villagers fear
this will be their last day
When out of the sky
came a bolt
Oh so quick!
As Zeus comes down
to battle with it
Poseidon's wrath
Cannot be subdued
As they battle
the rage
and the tension within
spreads to the ocean
and the villager's sin
They started it all
and they knew it was true
Now would they choose
to embrace the truth?
This secret
in vain
has started a war
between sky
between ocean
this war will occur
The truth was not told
The village destroyed
Over one little fib
the gods lost their toys
