Bare Feet
You feel the grass beneath your feet
It grabs you tenderly and then pinches you
You wonder if any bugs might bite you
The thought haunts you for a moment but soon vanishes
Then you feel a sharp substance under you
You raise your foot
You stare, a bit confused
Is it a bug or a stone?
You feel a shiver go through your body
You back away, a few steps
Then you feel a sudden urge to find out what it is
With all your courage, you pick it up
You realize it's just a stone
Your body calms down and a broad smile follows
And you keep walking bare feet
