Forever Unseen
Cold wind blows against bare trees
Holiday lights line up the streets
People dart from place to place
They do not think of tragedy
Or about deaths from decades past
I am here, in this crowded street
On the spot I died years ago
I do remember what happened
And I recall what they forgot
They walk through me, feeling nothing
But I feel their warmth around me
I feel the throb of beating hearts
I hope a person will sense me
But they march along without pause
And I am standing alone again
It is boring, this afterlife
Waiting for the impossible
But yet I will never join them
All I can do is watch them pass
And I will be forever unseen
