My Wall

I built the wall around this heart of mine before anybody could get to close,
I never wanted to fell the pain of a broken heart,
I never wanted anybody to figure me out,
Nobody gets it so I just shush myself out,
I'm dying in the silence between the two of us,
I'm not big on taking chances,
But there is something about you that just makes me want to open my eyes,
There is a big world out there, but I'm just too scared to try,
All because I have built my wall too high.
