You and I out on the lake.
Our feet dangling off the ancient dock.
Our arms wrapped around each
Other.
My head resting on your shoulder.
Fish jumping like a cat when
It sees a mouse.
The sky slowly slipping away behind
The trees.
The perfect moment, I couldn’t imagine
How this moment could get any better.
Till you turned to me with that irresistible
Smile and pulled a small box out
Of your pocket.
Nature got silent as I said yes.
You officially made this the best day ever,
Until the day I say I do.
