Here You Are

I’ve been a shattered glass for so long,
Letting anyone see right through me.
Too many pieces of me burn in an untamable fire.
Having to face that once, you were here,
And the beauty of love that was simply ours,
Has disappeared.

I’ve been a puzzle piece
You can’t put together for way too long.
Each piece refused to fit together.
Remind myself, this fire I’m burning in
wasn’t an Angel’s dream, it was seen with my own eyes.
You, your love, your spirit, and your imagination
Used to be here.

The beauty of love faded,
Instead replaced by an empty feeling
Filled with nothing.
I cant believe our love is a lifetime away.

One last touch, one last kiss, oh please my love.
Come back.

I think my imagination is taking over me,
Turning around, I see you walking toward me
With a new, deepened look in your eyes.
You take my hand, and kiss my lips.
Realizing my dreams are reality,
I return affection. Here you are,
In a more perfect form.

Run away with me and never look back.

Neat! Definitely a kind of poem I can see being both loved and hated; loved by those who have suffered from the same things, and hated by those who see only the best. Keep writing, and I'm sure you'll do great things!
