Finally Home
I remember that summer night,
When everything in the world seemed so right.
The stars shone brightly;
The breeze blew lightly;
And the cool summer night air,
It was so perfect-just lying there.
Looking up, I saw that lonely star.
And it made me think of where you are.
Are you looking at it too?
I thought, if only I knew.
You were lonely in that far away land.
If only you had someone to take your hand,
To tell you everything would be alright,
And to see you smile so bright.
But now you're finally home,
And see how much I've grown.
It's as if you never had to leave.
Finally, it's easy to breathe.
Having you home is so great,
Away from that place full of hate.
And finally I can say I love you,
Just in case you never knew.
