"Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today."-James Dean

Sadness fills the hearts of the city,
It tries to escape but it can not,
Pain and horror fills the city, on top of the smoke that is all around.
It started out as a pretty day, with no sign of anything wrong,
No happiness no where,
No happiness to spare,
Some cry, some just as quiet as the heart itself,
The city is falling apart,
and no one can help,
The people are barely able to stand up,
They're not sure what life is anymore,
They don't know how this could have happened.
They just wait and stare for hours, and hours waiting for a sign of life,
Some of them get a call, some do not.
They don't know how to start their day anymore,
They don't know how to live,
The pain never goes away the pain never will.

This poem started with an idea of a city, and ended up turning into a day when a whole city fell apart as well as the whole country. The poem is about 9/11 and how in any moment your whole life can change.
