I Want A Voice

I want to speak to the world
And share what you did to me,
But I can’t talk because
My lips sealed themselves shut.

I want to acknowledge it softly
Instead of trying to make it disappear
Because I know it never will.
It happened and that’s it.

I want to believe it is your fault
Because I sometimes feel it is mine
Which really isn’t right.
I didn’t deserve what happened.

I want to feel free again
Instead I feel like a turtle
Hiding in his shell day after day.
I’m always alone, yet never alone.

I want to open up to people
Instead of bottling this inside.
I keep trying so hard
But I can’t speak of that night.

It's hard to talk about this subject, which I didn't name. It's been a year and I still can't speak.
