Gypsy
Foreigner painted our dance,
Keeping us in a trance
So divine, so mesmerizing,
His heartbeat hypnotizing
His scent so sweet and alluring
Such emotions I was enduring!
Such emotions, indeed
Until the dance shifted speed
Until it all stopped
My arms, they dropped
As another girl pulled him in
Words like sin
I watched mutely,
Anger burning absolutely
As she used her magic.
A feeling so tragic
Sprung into my very soul,
Feeling so cold.
Until the gypsy left
That horrid, awful theft
There was no smiling for me
No happiness, no glee
Not until she’d gone
Did I cease feeling withdrawn
