Shoah
No pictures
No words
No books
Can describe this event
Though we learn
And try to understand
Never could we comprehend
The tragedy
The thoughts
And the way they felt
Dress in stripes
With a star upon their clothes
They were told they were nothing
Faceless
They were a disgrace to Aryans
Did not belong
And so thus Hitler said
“Be gone”
Through their journey
To concentration camps
Through the gate
Thousands of feet went
Some to the right and some to the left
Where they were sent to work
Or to become ashes
Finally the day came
When they were liberated
Though 6 million were already dead
We must remember
We cannot forget
So no catastrophe
Like fire and destruction
Will ever happen again
