Some say fear
Is just an emotion
But explain to me nightmares that leave you screaming
Explain to me murder
And crime that haunt the lives of the innocent
Explain to me
Spiders crawling over your body
when you sleep, unbeknownst to the safety you long for
Explain to me waking up in a cold
Sweat too afraid to move
Explain to me fear that leaves you hiding in a corner with a teddy bear as your only friend
Explain to me why fear rules our lives
Explain to me why I shouldn’t be afraid
explain to me why fear should be afraid of me
