the tickle of his beard
kisses against my cheek
a hug to hold
warmth unfolds
a bellow from deep down
words to turn my frown
his tales i miss
strong hands to catch me when i fall
to hold me up over it all
his wisdom i seek
for just this week
to ease my pain
and help me gain
i miss you
my everything you were
always there
ready to care
i look to the skies
and pray this night
that you'll be here with me
that you'll see
just how much you mean to me
Daddy I want to tell you this day that "i love you"
