My Dreams

I go through life, wondering.
Hoping love will reveal its plan for me.
I dream of fantastical endings,
Wishing for that happily ever after.
I see your deep blue eyes
That sparkle when you smile.
I recognize them from my dreams,
And slowly slip into my fantasy.
My dream is suddenly shattered by Her,
The girl you dream of.
She doesn't even know you,
Or see the way you look at her.
But I do,
And it breaks my heart in two.
I'll never know what we could have been,
And will only have my dreams.
