If...
If I were calm,
My ghostly self would pass through life unnoticed.
If I were going insane,
Unseen children's laughter would permeate my mind.
If I were angry,
My walls would feel the brunt of it and my words would come quickly without thought.
If I were depressed,
My tears and bloody poems would reflect it.
If I were in pain,
The tears would be on the edge, but I'll hold them back, because I would rather lie to myself.
If I were in love,
Butterflies would flutter around my middle and spread to the tips of my fingers and toes.
If I were happy,
A smile would stretch across my face at no one in particular.
If I weren't invisible,
People would smile back.
