The author's comments:
This was written when I was in middle school. We read a birthday poem and teacher told us to write one for ourselves thinking back on our birthdays. I decided to take all those little things that irritate people on birthdays and turn them into a joke. The horrible cake, unwanted present, loud and unpracticed singing and birthday punches (where does that come from?).
