Peace you may bring and peace you may take
Cause the body and mind to ache
Disturbed forever and ever more
Is a sailor man far away, off shore.

Sleep, Sleep like a double edged sword
The hand that holds the hilt always aware of who it points toward
You may grant everlasting peace to one
But pay the price with your own freedom
This haunting will last til the end of time
Always lacking something, like a voiceless mime
All involved, their souls now tainted
many lives will become unbraided
Restlessness and fear are always now felt
The heart will always felt he remaining welt
Some may take the pain well
Others become just a glimpse of an empty shell
Pray for it you might
But sleep once taken will remain in flight
Sleep will disturb all that's in a weak mind
Bothered by dreams of a frightening kind
Bothered by dreams of a frightening kind
For all of nature rejoices in a sleepy rest
All but those who have disturbed this quest
Will regret their choice for as long as thy live
Without sleep no one is able to thrive
Sleep, Betrays and yet its innocents remains
It allows refreshments and the mind to remain sane
Yet can not hide anything that wished to be heard
Deep dark secrets will soon escape and be learned
Sleep you must have and keep at all cost
For if you murder sleep forever your peace, worth, and sanity will be lost

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem after reading Shakespere's MacBeth. I used the reference of sleep through the story. I tried to capture every aspect. Let me know what you think.
