Guts.
I don't have the guts to tell you in person,
because I don't want you to laugh.
I don't have the guts to admit I screwed up,
because it's rarely announced.
I don't have the guts to tell you I miss you,
because I don't know if you miss me.
I don't even have the guts to say more then one syllable,
I can't breathe past that.
I don't have the guts to look you in the eye,
because I know you won't look back.
I don't have the guts to see you,
unless it's by coincidence.
I don't have the guts to speak to you,
just the sight of you pulls on my heart strings.
I can't say I have the guts,
but I can wave.
I can't say I have the guts,
but I can smile.
I can't say I have the guts,
but I have called.
I can't say I have the guts,
but I can say hi.
I can't say I have the guts,
but.....I....Lo...
Now I know I don't have the guts.
