There I stood
As he walked toward me
I hadn’t seen him in years
And the old feelings
Had returned
I could feel myself begin to blush
He looked right at me
And smiled
My hands shook as he reached out
Giving me a big hug
And asking how I had been throughout the years
I noticed his beautiful eyes
As he stare deep into my soul
Waiting for me to reply

I shook my head as I blinked
Back to reality
He walked right past me
Didn’t even look my way
My heart sank
He greeted everyone
But me
The room was filled with laughter
As he held conversed with everyone
But all I heard was the sound of my heart
As it shriveled and drowned in my chest
