The night is dark.
Sue, Sol, and Mol are whispering,
Whisper, whisper, whisper.
They don’t like the dark,
They don’t like the death,
The death of a thousand parents.
The death of a million souls.
Sue, Sol, and Mol stop whispering.
They’ve heard something.
The door is opening,
Sue, Sol, and Mol begin to laugh,
Ha,ha,ha.
It is just Kari, Bob, Larry and Drew.
Sue, Sol, and Mol stop laughing…
Kari, Bob, Larry and Drew follow suit.
Someone is still in the house,
Laughter, laughter,
High-pitched laughter, this is what they hear,
Screeching, screeching,
High-pitched screeching, this is what they hear,
Footsteps echo through the house,
Mom and Dad come in the room.
“Mom and Dad, that was you?!”
They shake their heads and bite their nails.
“Sue, Sol, Mol. Kari, Bob, Larry and Drew. Someone is in the house.”
Sol cocks his head. Mol furrows his brow.
Sue crosses her arms. Kari chatters her teeth.
Bob bites his nails. Larry begins to cry.
Drew clenches his arms. Mom and Dad join hands.
There is a knock at the door.
Knock, knock.
The door slides open.
Everyone is crying now.
A foot comes out of the doorway.
Everyone is screaming now.
Then a leg, a torso, an arm,
Until Death is standing in front of them.
