gliding smoothly across the page
It is my love
It is my peace
It is my comfort
but most of all, it is my friend
Always there for me
to listen, not to judge
even as I strike it with anger and tears soak the page
It does nothing but listen and give me hope
for a brighter day
It'll smile with me
It'll cry with me
It'll be with me all my life; no matter how old I get
Although I may feel alone
I have everything I need
just as long as my pen and notebook are beside me
