A Heartache Between Flesh and Soul

Between flesh and soul,
lives a heart.
Tucked somewhere deep inside,
it beats to the tune of
a soft lullaby.
Between flesh and soul,
lives love.
Tucked somewhere deep inside,
it thrives, and thinks,
and hurts.
Between flesh and soul,
lives a piercing pain.
Tucked somewhere deep inside,
it strongly aches
to be loved.
My flesh,
it begs for rhyme and reason.
It thrives on logical thoughtfulness.
My soul,
it persuades the imperfect.
It motivates emotion.
My heartache,
tucked deep inside,
lives between flesh and soul.
