Eden (The Apple or the Man)
From the paradise lure of Eden’s lush emerald,
from which sprouted a new kind of fruit,
A ripe curiosity grew plentiful
until the sweet scents seeked to pollute.
With all the future about their fingers,
It was the apple, alone in her eye.
Desires to indulge in the curving fruit’s caress,
bold wanting; she was not a heart too shy.
Her mind fluttered as curiosity craved.
Her conscience quivered and then weighed.
Lips denied as much as lips can,
Which to succumb to, the apple, or the man?
