Hollow Dreams
Night enraptures me, calling me to a bed of stars
And the blackness in place of the moon;
As I lay my head to sleep, my mind drifts off, into a sea of dreams,
On the rolling sea of dreams I am caught adrift in an epic journey;
The colors are fantastical, the motions ecstasy, time is of the essence here, there is a face in which I cannot see, a mask of shadows, he is always there, my knight in the shadows, in his hands a rose of red, beckoning;
Crippled, I cannot lift my head, I am not trying,
Hopeless, I fall, faster and faster, I finally reach the pitch black of the bottom of the sea,
I awake;
Life is mundane after the journeys I have taken, after the fruit of the trees of dreams I have tasted, the ambrosia I have drunk,
The magic of hollow dreams has taken me;
These hollow dreams, and restless sleep has me spellbound, I cannot awaken;
