Night Terrors Every Night

Droopy and slouchy and out of control.
A pain in my heart, a pierce in my soul.
Melting, cascading, going down.
Night terrors flash, smiles crumble to frown.
Hot flashes, cold sweats, I feel my pulse quicken.
I try to save my ears, but they surrender themselves and listen.
Screaching, screaming, harsh, cold and dry.
Escape is not an option, so I collapse and cry.
Inside my bed, where I should be serene,
I live night terrors nightly, not one un-sad dream.
I am afraid to sleep,
Because every night,
I fall into a deep,
Terrifying fright.
