Me and You

I can try to be me as hard as I can,
But at the end of the day there is still you.
And when you’re not the you I know,
I’m not the me I know either.
I’m afraid to say we’re tied together,
But I don’t know how else to say it.
You affect me, but I don’t seem to affect you
Because if I did, you would still be you.
