I am OK
I am OK with waiting.
I would wait forever.
I am OK with being second,
If only I am on the list.
I am OK with being alone.
It is how I was born,
It will be how I die.
I am OK with being caring.
You do not know the full extent.
I am OK with being hurt.
I can heal my own heart.
I am OK with being there,
As a shoulder to cry on,
As a solider to fight on,
As a pillow to fall on,
As a friend to lean on.
I am OK with you,
But you do not care.
I feel broken,
Sad,
Neglected,
But I am OK.
Because I still get to see you.
I still see you face,
Every single day.
You break my heart,
Then stick it back together.
But I am OK.
I am OK with this life.
It is all I have ever known.
I will wait for you.
I will take you by the hand,
Feel your skin against mine,
See your loving eyes,
Look down on me,
And know you are here.
You are real.
Then I will wake,
From this sweet dream.
But I am OK.
