I don’t see a reason why
A wound, deeply tingling with pain
Could show signs of peace
And a glimpse of happiness

I don’t see a reason why
You would choose this way,
A slow and painful way to die,
What was your reason?
I assume something I cannot know,
it’s a secret buried deep down
Where only the dead can tell the living,

Disappearing into the dark,
As if you were dusk.
We ache to search for something not be found
And I just don’t see a reason why.

My cousin's suicide inspired me to write this poem. I hope that people who have lost someone by suicide can relate to my feelings or someone who is thinking about suicide realizes how it can affect their family.
