Can't Change Me

You can’t change me
Trying but you will not succeed
Because this is how I was born
Thinking that my friends change me
But what if I’ve always been this way
Just not unleashed
Saying they affect me in ways
That you don’t particularly like
But you always tell me to be myself
Why are you contradicting yourself
If opening your eyes
Would allow you to realize
Who I am
Saying they influence my grades
But what if I don’t understand
What they are teaching
And see that these are my friends
And they are always there for me
No matter what you say
