I Do(n’t) Need You(r Understanding)

I’ve tried so many times to go it alone,
but do it yourself isn’t the answer.
Solace can only be found
when you’re around.
It’s in your words and how you say them. The
things
you say make me feel again,
Like the hands of a surgeon
they grasp my
cold, lifeless heart and
massage it back to life.
Hope is so scarce in my world but
when you’re around life
isn’t so lifeless anymore.
