Gold & Silver

December 10, 2011
Give me all the gold in the world
And all the silver too
All the jewels and all the gems
But they'll never amount to you

The people in this world
Value gold, silver, and pearls
But the thing I value most
Is the smiling face you host

Gold and silver
Diamonds and rubies
They mean all but nothing to me
For as long as I can see you
That's good enough for me

How much value do treasures hold
Before the eyes of God?
They are worth nothing to Him
For we need them not

What does God value
You might ask?
Our hearts and souls He values

More than any treasure
You might ask?
Yes, he loves us more than that

So that is why I want you
Over gold, and silver too
For they will mean nothing when
We are up in heaven

I love it. It was a good way of saying that material things don't hold a candle to the things that truly matter.
