What I say, What I feel

I love her

Yet I can’t tell her that

For I fear she might reject me

Or that my love may hurt her

So I’d rather be her friend

Then cause her pain

But sometimes…

When she knocks on my door

Crying, Heartbroken

Mascara running down, mixed with tears

From her beautiful, ocean blue eyes

Her cheeks colored pink and red

Showing anger but also shame

I want to find the guy

Who hurt her and made her cry

Punch him in his jaw

Kick him in his chest

Hurt him till he feels pain,

A million times greater than what she feels

Then hold her in my arms dearly

And whisper in her ear, “I love you.”

But instead…

I let her in my home

Ask her what’s wrong

Listen to her cry

and suppress my true feelings

as I only tell her… “It’ll be okay.”
