My Confused Love
My love, my only love
You sit deflowered and confused
I heap my adoration upon you
And you let it hang cold in the night air
We looked beautiful under the hazy lights
Walking in the labyrinths of the large city
You walked with grace, with a flower in your hair
And time, for a fleeting moment, lost it’s domain
Rocked to sleep by the gentle hum of the motor streaming through the hills and towns
I held you in my arms, with your head on my shoulder, and I felt free…
I kiss you warmly, but you let me go no farther, because the memory still lingers… will it always linger?
I broke promises and friendships
I walked through rain and wind
I moved stones larger than my being
I cried and let myself fall ill
Just to be here with you…
But my adoration is left hanging in the cold, December air…
