mirror
When I look in the mirror it’s not me that is see
I see a young child looking back at me
I don’t know who she is or
why she’s there
But she tells me the sadness inside me she cannot bare
This girl is so happy
I can’t help but stare look at that gorgeous curly hair
Her skin is so perky and her smile is so bright
But that all changes before my sight
I see her eyes well up in tears and she says to me
Why did you just leave me here?
As my knees get weak and I fall down
I come to see the happy little girl in the mirror
Used to be me.
