To a special grandad
One day you were here and the next you were gone
I was told you gone on holiday to a special place
Then I started to realise you wasn’t coming back
That you had gone to heaven to see the family we had already lost
When you died
The smiles you gave us disappeared,
The laughter turned into tears
The jokes you told we no longer funny,
But the things you did for us, no one could replace.
It felt as all my emotions had gone, like they had disappeared with you.
As I’ve become older I’ve become more and more responsible
Now I have realised why you had to go and where you have gone
I just thought I would let you know I’m really proud of you with what you had to go through.
Love you always Grandad
