Breathe in,
Breathe out.
Do you feel that?
Do you feel the sweet air rushing to your lungs, giving you life?
So many others cannot do this any longer.
Their broken hearts no longer beat, and that sweet air,
No longer reaches their withered lungs.
And why?
Were they dealt an unfortunate hand in life?
Was there some sort of accident?
No. These lost souls lie decaying six feet under because they felt like they were alone,
Like death itself was their only way out.
Oh, you think it doesn’t affect you?
You think one less human in this world doesn’t matter?
Think about this.
What if that kid you teased today, was gone tomorrow?
Would it affect you then?
What if one of your very own friends decided they could take no more?
Would it matter then?
The fact is, you don’t know what’s truly going on with a person at any given point in time.
One degrading act, no matter how small, could just be enough to push them over the edge.
Oh, you think this could never happen to you?
You think this never happens where you live?
Every 18 minutes someone dies from a suicide.
Every 43 seconds, someone attempts one.
If you think these statistics don’t apply around you,
You’re wrong.
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
The air isn’t so sweet anymore,
Is it?
