Silence stands between us
Fear keeps us apart
Nothing seems to matter
As the darkness closes in
The end is near and there’s no fighting
Leave quickly and leave behind
Feelings floating, waiting to be caught
Silence stands between us
Reach out for hope but it’s hopeless
Tensions rise, the air is dense
Heartbeats fading into black
Silence stands between us
One last breath, one last hope
Love conquers all or so they say
But with all that’s left, one last breath
“Please forget.”
