He was a lonely man
Lost in the hole they call love
The black whole
that swallows hope

He went around knocking on doors
to see if someone had room
But was denied

He found his way to my heart
the door was unlocked
and it was empty
He made a home there
giving up the life of a vagabond
and settling down

But then things got rough
he was unsure
so he locked part of himself
deep in there
But he hid the key
even deeper

He left
and took a part of me
with him
He left
But he's always there

When I'm 34, and I hear his name being said, I will be sure to turn my head. I will smile in thought of what we could have had, and hope that he is satisfied.
